Year 2024 in review

Always optimistic, even if life’s a rollercoaster

December 31, 2024

As I reflect on 2024, it’s been a year of huge contrasts – filled with both incredible joy and significant challenges. The brightest star of our year was undoubtedly our daughter Anna, who turned 1 year old on December 2nd. Watching her grow from a tiny infant into a curious, active and smiling toddler has been nothing short of magical, bringing light to even the darkest days.

The year tested me physically as I battled with ulcerative colitis. While summer brought a welcome period of remission, the condition returned with a vengeance in October. It made the daily life particularly challenging. Through it all, my wife has been my biggest help, managing countless responsibilities while caring for both Anna and me when I was down. I’m immensely grateful for her strength and dedication, as well as for our supportive family, friends, and colleagues who’ve helped us navigate these difficult times. Despite my health struggles, we refused to let them define our year. We embarked on adventures as a family – our daughter, our two dogs, and us – creating precious memories along the way. These travels became bright spots in our calendar, proving that with determination and support, we could still embrace life’s joys.

On the professional front, DimensionLab experienced its own roller coaster. We celebrated significant milestones, including Tiny.vc joining our investment round, bringing our pre-seed funding to €950k. Siml.ai, our flagship product, grew to 2,400 early users, and we successfully launched numerous features in the beta version. The feedback we received has been instrumental in shaping our vision for Siml.ai v1.0, scheduled for late Q1 2025.

The final months of 2024 brought their share of business challenges, testing our resilience as a company. However, we’re ending the year on a hopeful note, with exciting new customers and substantial projects lined up for early 2025.

Looking back, 2024 was a year that taught us about strength, perseverance, and the power of support systems. While it wasn’t always easy, it was filled with moments of triumph, both personal and professional, that made every struggle worthwhile.

I’m highly optimistic for the year 2025. Bring it on!
